Why does that DCM have frets on it? Oh yeah, they only made them with frets.

(I'll bet there's a fretless one out there, though . . . )

I thought this thread had disappeared long ago...the fretless P-bass is an early '76 Walnut (serial # on neck plate) that plays and sounds great. It's got the LaBella 1954 set on it nowadays. Close to 11 lbs though. When I bought it, it had the reissue "gold" anodized pickguard and I added the re-issued ashtray and pickup cover that I sprayed gold to match the PG as you see it in the picture. Since then, I acquired a period-correct black PG and installed it with the original chromed ashtray and pickup cover.

In retrospect, it looks a whole lot better in this photo than it does currently as stock!
