Just placed an order for 2010 4003 FG won't see it until mid Aug but heck that's only 6 wks away or so. I think i can hold out Will post photos ASAP.

any words of advice on waiting a while before opening the case to help with temp & humidity concerns?

You should be able to find a new one for a good price that you can buy on the spot right now. The market for new Rics is good for buyers this year. Is this 6 week wait something the dealer has a firm grasp of or just a "guesstimate"? I've known dealers to project when they'll receive an order and be way off in the past, as was the case with my (eventual) 2009 4003 MG. What was supposed to be a 1.25 year wait ended up being exactly 2 years, as it were. The truth is that most dealers only have limited info about when RIC will send their shipments.

Not trying to be a downer though! I'm really excited for you, and I believe the 2010 4003s are some of the best RIC has ever made, so I expect and hope that you'll be really happy with your purchase.

I agree with Joshua. Don't be too surprised or disappointed if it takes longer than 6 weeks to get your 4003 as sometime dealers just approximate when when their guitars will arrive.

If fit does arrive in August, I wouldn't be too concerned about how soon to unpack it. I personally just wouldn't unpack it immediately in an air conditioned room, if it's been riding around in a very hot delivery truck for a good part of the day.

Chris Snow is selling his, so you could have in in a day if you wanted. Probably for a better price, too
