Help bring back the Merseybeat stage that was eliminated for this year's Mathew Street Festival! Why else would Liverpool be on the map? What city council idiots!!!

It's unbelievable really. Have these people any idea what the merseybeat bands have done for the city? I went to the festival two years ago and it was the only stage of any interest to me. The Undertakers with Jackie Lomax and The Merseybeats were superb. I hope they see sense and it's just a one-off for this year, but somehow I doubt it.

This is a real shame. I've been considering going to the festival this year -- a friend of mine will be playing there and has invited me. The last time I went to Liverpool, I managed to not see a single gig, so this would probably be penance and then some.
