Former Kinks bassist Pete Quaife has died.
Unfortunately, those who created the music we love (and who for many of us are also our contemporaries) are now becoming the "dying generation"...

Ironically, just last night I was reading an article on Pete in the current issue of Guitar magazine (UK).

Well, it's actually a right-handed 4001S in Burgundy, but we know what you meant!

RIP Pete. 66 is too young to die from natural causes.

Pete Quaife was a great bassist and played on some of my favorite songs. So sad to hear of his passing.

So sorry to hear. I will tighten my bass guitar strap all the way up in his honor tonight.

R.I.P. Peter. You gave us some classic bass lines that will never be forgotten.

This is a big one for me personally as I have long been a dyed in the wool Kinks fan. Here's the BBC obituary.

I am sure most over the pond will have heard of Glastonbury Festival and it's this weekend.

Each year they have a golden oldie stage and ironically this year it's Ray Davis, I hope he does mention this news and I am sure he will.

I'll have to record his bit as England are playing Germany a t same time.

I am still trying to come to terms with fact that USA won the world cup group we were in, never live it down!
