I had out today some examples of instruments of the various shades of red finishes that Rickenbackers come in, so I thought that I would share the pictures with everyone here.

First, the cast of characters: 4003S SPC Redneck (Dec 1987); 4000FL Burgundy (Jan 1977); 610 Ruby, (Jul 1987); and 4001 Ruby (Feb 1982).

I was trying to figure out how dark the 610 Ruby was compared to the others, so that's why it tends to be in the center

Now, the pictures.

IMO, the edge-on views seem to represent the 'true colors' the best )in the sun-lit edge areas).

They're all beautiful, but that 610 stands out. I've always liked the 600 series body styles best of everything Ric does (although I haven't seen anything they do that I don't like at least a little).

Nice pics, Gary! Beautiful guitars, my favorite is the 4000FL. My Cii/5 and 4001FL would look nice added in with those also.
Now you have to do this with all the finishes that you have more than one of. I'd be happy to add mine to the mix, like we did with the Turquoise Ricks for photo shoots!
