The Going Gretsch Forum

Over the years there has been much discussion about Gretsch guitars on the RickResource Forum. For many here this instrument, as with the Rickenbacker, was introduced by The Beatles.

There have been requests by Forum members who would like to discuss Gretsch guitars while they are visiting this site. In the interest of having the Gretsch material in the same place and in responding to these requests I have added this forum under RRF Miscellaneous Forums at the present time.

Other Gretsch related posts will be added here as time permits. I would ask moderators to move pertinent posts in their section, as appropriate, to this area as it is convenient.

I thought Gretsches looked cool since before I started playing music. I think Duane Eddy was the first person I ever saw an illustration of playing a Gretsch, and then when I started really paying attention, I noticed that Billy Zoom of "X" and Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats played Gretsches. I didn't realize the Beatles played them as well until I re-examined a few Beatles album covers.

Congratulations Tony, you're a Gretsch guy now. :P

Not too much here to talk about for the bassists. I thought Gretsch bass guitars never sold well?

Perhaps a bass version of this, and it's in your favorite color, too.

Right on!

My '64 6120 DC is one of the best playing guitars i've ever owned (total keeper). Glad to have a place here to talk about Gretsches.

Nice!

I used to be a big Gretsch enthusiast in my hard rock - rockabilly days. At on time I had 12 of 'em.

I'm down to 2 as the Rics and Gibsons took over both my collection and playing style but there's still something about a Gretsch............
