Rockabilly Roundup

Post by kenposurf »

Groups like The Bobby Fuller Four managed to cover the sounds of garage, pop, surf and rockabilly.
My band has been doing some gigs with some modern rockabilly bands...garage beat and rockabilly share much and with that in mind I'd like to start this sub forum here:
A few to get goin'..remember if the garage is rockin' come on knockin' :D

Robert Gordon has done a lot to get the Rockabilly sound ouut to the masses. Along the way he's aligned himself with some killer guitar players including Link Wray, Chris Spedding and Danny Gatton

It's a shame that his life was cut so short. No telling what might have been.

I remember back inthe very early 80's hearing Robert Gordon and Link Wray doing "Someday Someway" and thinking THAT was a sound I'd like to be able to capture myself from a songwriting and playing standpoint. From there I started listening to a lot of rockabilly as well as following Marshall Crenshaw, the one who wrote the song. I don't know if I ever captured that sound but it sure was fun trying (and I'm still trying)! ;)
