I've searched all over for a Byrds tab book. All I was able to locate was a slim volume called "The Best of the Byrds" (Wise Publications), which is currently out of print. Do you know of any other books (other than McGuinn's booklet to the DVD "The 12-String Guitar of Roger McGuinn") of this kind?

On the official Byrds website, there are some songs that are tabbed out-- I did three myself!

Hi Robert,
It's not exactly what you're looking for, but there's a website with free tabs that I use as a starting point for my Byrds covers.
Some tabs are better than others. A few have the detail that you find in the McGuin DVD booklet. After that, it's all down to your ears. I am currently recording "You Won't Have to Cry". I started with the tab, which basically just has the chords. I spent the entire afternoon today doing just the McGuinn guitar tracks (at least a close approximation), by ear. It'll take me another session to get the Crosby guitar down (also by ear). Once that's done, only the vocal tracks need to be added.

I find a fair amount of good stuff there. You can search by song title or by band name. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the Ultimate Guitar link, Tom. I've gotten some transcriptions from them in the past, and the lyrics are helpful, but they only seem to give you the most basic chords without any tab showing the arpeggios. I would very much like to check out the official Byrds site. Can you give me a link to that, Karl?
