Right before playing a show last week, I found the footswitch for my Deluxe Reverb stopped working. Instead of being able to switch the "Reverb" and "Vibrato" channels on and off with set levels, I was only able to switch the Reverb on and off. The Tremelo would not shut off by the footswitch. I ended up doing the show without the footswitch plugged in, used no tremelo (so any Bo Diddley songs I wanted to do I had to cut out)

Since Fender has a Five Year Warranty and I bought the amp brand new last year, do I need to take the footswitch to IVG and have them order a new one from Fender or is this simply a problem that something has to be re-soldered or something like that?

If it's under warranty I'd say take it back. If you're gigging regularly, and have the spare $, buy an extra one to keep in your gig bag, just in case. I don't think they're over $40. I could be wrong, but I think Antique Electronic Supply might have the best price for them.

I'd take advantage of the warranty too, and that's a good idea from Paul about having a backup.

Oh, and make sure it's the Footswitch; there are two tubes for the vibrato, at least on Twins and Supers. Make sure they're both a-ok. Does the Trem work w/o the FS in it? It will depend on the amp. the Trem on my Twin requires a FS, IIRC, while the Trem on my Super does not.

Usually you step on them.....

Could be the channel as Paul suggests, could be the one switch, could be the cable came loose at the plug, could be the jack on the amp. Take the footswitch to the store and try it in another amp first. That cuts the possibilities in half.

The footswitch is required for the trem on the Deluxe.

I need a Super.

Since the reverb works, did you try reversing the plugs to see if the Trem would work that way? There are 2 seperate RCA type plugs for the Reverb and Trem right?

Jake, I'd take the whole thing in. It seems as though you've had many issues with that amp and they don't seem to be going away. Take advantage of the warranty while it's still in effect.

Yep. After the problem's fixed, maybe have blessed by a priest, minister, or rabbi. . . or maybe all three!

The first thing to look at would be the connections at the jack. They are RCA - and can easily work loose during transport.
