The Fad on A.M. Los Angeles in the 80s. 4005 in JG with F-hole-Rose Morris? Not sure if it is, and I don't know what the model number is for the RM version. :D  . We used to all hang out at the same club in the L.A. Garage Revival Scene in the mid-late 80s, along with the go go girls dancing in the video. Fun stuff! Mike Snow was in that scene as well, though I didn't know him then. :D

Very cool! Interesting that the guitarist was using a F**der 12-string ...

Interesting bass, indeed! Although they're neat and rare, I've always been disappointed in the 4005's body shape and think it's one instance where RIC went bold with a design but didn't quite hit the mark. What they should have done is make a bass with a slightly larger variation of the 330 body shape. I'd be all over THAT!

PS: that must be Switched On Audrey dancing next to the guitar player. Cool chickie, I met her at Cavestomp 2007 in NYC.

That is indeed Audrey Moorehead. :D You can hear her on the Luxuria Music website hosting the "Pretty World" show.

I always thought the 4005 should look hwave a 360 WB/OS style body and trim as well, but then I think pretty much every Rick should have that body style and trim. . . .

If they did the bass would be very neck heavy. With the longer upper horn it balances quite nicely. 8)

"Balance"? That's for ballet. Build an anvil into the body cavity. Or a solid gold brick. Problem solved! Who needs collar bones, anyways.

Nice pic though, JPS. Is that baby yours?

Yes, it is mine. The 4005WB was the first Rick I bought, back in '73; it is from Feb '67.

Sweet, a keeper fershure! Is it very heavy? How does the neck compare to a 4001?

My 4001 was the first instrument I ever bought. It was even stolen back in 1998 but I got it back a few years later when it popped up in a dubious pawn shop. It's gone dead though...got to have the wiring checked sometime soon because something must be loose. No sound.

That's my old chum & current bandmate Frank (Manlin) Max on guitar.

We've been playing together on & off in The Optic Nerve since 1985 & are currently in The Beat Rats.

That's Philly/NY scene garager Paul Garwood on rhythm/stomp guitar & Robert (Bluto, the Brooklyn Basher) Pinnock on the drums.

Check out our Mersey/Punk sound on Myspace...
