Anyone have a good experience with one?

Would probably need to put a guitar and a mic through it..or bass and mic

Vox DA5. Uses 6 "C" cells, but mine last for weeks. The sound is amazing and you have several amp types, effects types to play with. On the 5W setting, it will keep up with a good dynamic drummer. On the 0.5w setting you won't disturb sleeping family members. They are small and light (you can even "wear" one and walk about playing). They have a line in and a mike in with preamp level control in addition to the guitar in. You can Ipod, sing and play at the same time.

I have 2. Found one on Craigslilst for $60 CAD, bought the first one new for $120 CAD. I love these guys. Perfect for busking or BBQ's.

Not sure about bass, it has a 6" speaker, so... But for guitar they are great. I'll have my bass player try it out this weekend (BBQ party) and see what he thinks. He uses a Pignose bass amp that I think is battery powered.

I play alot of gigs acoustically and attend many outdoor acoustic festivals. All the guys I jam with use the Crate Limo amp

It has a rechargable 12V wet cell battery (like a computer UPS) that lasts several hours. The Limo has 50 watts RMS, 10"woofer with tweeter. 2 Channel XLR and 1/4" inputs (you can run both i.e. guitar and vocal mic). DSP. Rugged construction. The other is a smaller version. I can't say enough good things about them after using them for 10+ years. I use the discontinued Bass Bus model which was designed especially for the bass. The Limo and Taxi are the only models they offer now. Limo Retails for $400 but I think it is very worth the cost. Taxi retails for $170.
