The Third Annual "Surfguitar 101 Convention" is fast approaching. Set August 5-8 aside on your calendar. Jeff "Bigtikidude" Hanson has an incredible lineup for Saturday at The Starting Gate in Los Alamitos. There are shows from LA to San Diego on the other days.

What better way to end the weekend than sipping a cool Mai Tai at Don the Beachcomber in Sunset Beach and indulge in a little "Instumental Karaoke with the great Matt Quilter from 7:00=10:00. Paul A., Collin, and other SoCal Forum members-work on those Surf chops; bring your favorite Rick to this one and show those Fender geeks where it's at!

Make this event if you can..rare to see this many great surf bands in the same place at the same +/- time

Wowza. I was really sick all week. Glad you had a good time, Skip. Thanks for the invite.

I read elsewhere you had the flu. Sorry to see that Paul. Hope you're feeling better.
Matt Quilter told me that the owner of Don the Beachcomber thought the "Guitar Karaoke" he did last night was a cool concept and is thinking of making it a regular feature.
Producer Mark Neill and I are still trying to get together. We're both fighting hectic schedules. If the "Guitar Karaoke" thing flies, I'm going to try to get him out for it. When "Jakefest" gets firmed up, I'll mention that to him as well. He does very "UnRick" things with his Ricks.
