To case or not to case?

Just a question that I have always wondered about. I have personally done both but I wanted to see what you guys thought. Is it alright to keep your guitars out (including semi-hollow body guitars) or shoudl they always be kept in the case when you are not playing them?
What do you do? Case or no case?

Never mind the construction; hollow body or acoustic, I keep them in their cases when I'm not playing them.

IIRC there's a previous thread where this was discussed. IMO it's a matter of personal choice. I usually keep a couple out, but the rest are safe in their cases.

Here's a link to the prior thread on guitar storage and display:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=393429&p=600256#p600256
Those who take the time to peruse it will be treated to photos of two very nicely displayed collections.
Thanks Paul and John!

I keep my acoustics in their cases, mostly for humidity control because we have to run the heat for so much of the year, but the electrics all hang out on Hercules hangers year-round. Haven't had any problems.

I prefer my instruments nearby where I can reach for them and play. No cases at home, unless they are for sale and I have detached.

This is what I do too... I kinda rotate what guitars I play, unless gigging etc.

I like 'em handy, too. No worries with rack space for sixteen. Look, there they all are, smiling at me! Hi, kids!
