370 MID value question

Hi everyone,

I have a 2007 Les Paul Standard that I've had on Kijiji for a while although I'm not worried about selling it too much - its a really nice LP and I'd be happy to keep it. Anyways, a guy wants to trade me his 2008 370/6 MID for it. I'm not up on the latest tracking for Rickenbacker values, but it seems like prices on 360's are sitting around $1200. Does that seem right to those of you in the now? As much as I like Rickenbackers, it seems that my Les Paul carries more value right now - around $16-1700. I could be wrong though. Can those of you in the know please give me your opinions on the values I've mentioned and the relative merit of such a trade? I would greatly appreciate it!

A 370/6 MID is a much rarer bird than any current production 360, which is what the $1200.00 is supposedly for. (360s, it seems to me, even in a common color like FG, are worth more like $1400.00+ in mint condition). No doubt the Rick is a much rarer bird than the LP, in any case, and it's rare even among Ricks.

If its a 08 it probably has the FWI s and wasnt the 370s in 2008 the last of the 6 ers made.So you might have something that not everyone has eg a 370/6 with FWIs

I have the same "08 370/6 MID, and it does have FWI's - a real beauty (and now no longer in production).

As long as you like how it plays, I think it would be a good deal for you. And, as far as it's market value compared to the LP, I would say that they're about the same right now, with a chance for the Rick to appreciate faster than the LP, due to it's unavailability.

Interesting, thanks to everyone that's replied so far. He sent me pics and the 370 does have FWI and the smaller headstock (no surprise there). Its weird though - all the Rickenbackers I've watched on eBay lately have struggled to make $1300 but LP's seem to go higher. I sold my 360FG before Christmas and it only made around $1250. I guess that's just the general guitar population though - Rickenbackers are generally underappreciated. Its definitely something I'll have to think about. If anyone else wants to offer their opinion, I'd be happy to hear it.

I believe that a 370 MID FWI in nice shape should sell for at least $1500, even in this soft market.
