Radio Birdman

Chris Masuak!
He was overshadowed on recordings by Deniz Tek, though. Still, bold move to use a Rick (625?) in a proto-punk band.
A+ for panache!

Or, more apropos to this forum (especially to me): "I play the guitar, I taught myself how to play the guitar, which was a bad decision... because I didn't know how to play it, so I was a s****y teacher."

Non-Rick trivia.... it is rumoured that Tek's Crestwood was the owned by Fred "Sonic" Smith of the MC5.

I don't think it was just rumour. Tek said so himself. At least I have the book on Radio Birdman and there's some kinda quote in there regarding the instrument's ownership history. Also something about how those are really easy guitars to play.

The Crestwood Deluxe has the ‘slim taper neck’, the equivalent to a SG Custom!!! With the square block inlays, neck & headstock binding & 3 pickups. I have exactly the same guitar, year model & B5, and it’s a joy to play!!

Cool, I seem to remember reading somewhere that it’s pretty rare for them to have the B5 from the factory, it was much more common to see them with the “E” logo vibrola. Is yours also white?

615! And then later swapped to a bigsby? Bottom photo definitely shows an Accent, the top photo definitely is not.

Apparently they also had a 450 in the camp as well, pics of both Chris and Deniz using one. I love Radio Birdman, at the last rehearsal before the pandemic my band was working on a cover of “Snake” to try and work into our set.
