airport is very close to ric premises

Well, you could always walk up and touch the door, better yet, have someone take a picture before the armed guards come and get you...

I think the thing to do would be just to saunter by, smile, and head for the beach.

Perhaps if you wander past wearing an A-board that says "Will sing to get inside" you might attract some attention.

Like pepper spray, tasers, batons, etc..........

I'd head down to Ruby's on Newport Beach pier and have a burger or two instead! :D :D :D :D

You might want to give them a call or an e-mail. In '88, my wife attended a nursing convention in Anaheim a month after I'd been there for NAMM, so I went down there with her and went to the Rickenbacker plant one afternoon. At that time they still had their museum upstairs--I called a week ahead of time and made an appointment, and was able to get in upstairs. I wasn't allowed onto the factory floor, but about ten minutes in, Rebecca (the receptionist) had to take a phone call, so I got left upstairs with all those prototypes and historic Ricks. I spent a couple of hours there--talk about a busman's holiday--I was in hog heaven! I was very careful not to drool on anything, but they might have had to vacuum the carpet after I left! Everybody I met was very cool, and they obviously take great pride in their work. I've always thought their guitars were cool, and after that experience, I came to admire the way they do business. I'm a nobody, but I got treated like an endorser that afternoon.
I don't think they have that museum open anymore, but you could call and find out...Does John Hall keep those guitars in his office now? :D

Yep......hate to burst a bubble, but the RIC factory is.....just a building.....with three letters on the side.

I'd head for the beach (or downtown/art district Santa Ana, or even Costa Mesa).

Enjoy!

If you've watched the recent tool company video you've seen it all pretty much, but if you still want to try and get in the door, I suggest a big box of fresh gourmet bakery cookies in addition to that call or email ahead of time..... :D

If you're going to be in Santa Ana, I suggest checking out the Arts district, as well as heading down to the beach.
