Here are some pics of a custom TP made for a 360/12V64:
Frrom the ad: The original owner installed a new tailpiece based on Ric’s trapeze tailpiece. He added a Rickenbacker “R” and created a separate string anchor for each of the 12 strings. This makes it easier to restring, reinforces the string spacing and further stabilizes the tuning. There is a removable cover as well (see photos). No structural alteration to the guitar was made. The stock Rickenbacker trapeze tailpiece is also included.

I had an idea for an "R" TP similar to this. The I restrung my Rick with the "R" TP, I thought the TP should have the slots on the top with a snap on removable cover; if built as I imagined it, the TP would be cometically indistinguishable from the standard "R" TP. Purists would probably never buy such a TP in enough numbers, and would complain probably complain in earfuls to RIC customer service if the company redesigned the TP, which is probably why RIC would never change the design.

Personally I don't like it.
To me it makes a wonderful guitar look like one of those horrible Chinese copies.

I don't like it. For me, you can have the tailpiece on a Ric be one way or the other...never both.

I notice this one has Rick-O-Sound. I thought the v64 reissues all had Dual Mono outputs? Can anyone confirm?

Good eye. The V64s are not supposed to have Rick-O-Sound or ROS lettering on the jackplate.

I note this example is a 1987, which would be within the first few years of production of the V64 reissues. Maybe the initial V64 runs had ROS and then later went to dual mono when someone realized that the original GH 360/12 was dual mono. Or maybe RIC was using ROS jackplates for these early guitars even though they were wired dual mono. Of the few 360/12V64s in the Register that have jackplate photos, the 1986 and 1987 models have the ROS lettering on the jackplate, whereas 1990 models and thereafter have a blank (non-ROS) jackplate.

I believe Ron is correct. My 360/12V64 from May 1985 has ROS but my 1990 version has dual mono jacks. I recall seeing other early V64s with ROS jackplates and I believe there is an RRF member that owns one from 1988 with a single mono jack.

(The 87 I sold Jake has ROS)

Here's an update to the discussion of output jacks on 360/12V64 models. Covered so far: Ric-o-sound for first few years of production (starting circa 1985) then to dual mono by 1990 or so.

My June '89 360/12V64 came with dual mono inputs.
