I was checking out the internet and came across this beautiful 366 wbbs convertable. Just thought I would post a pictue of it. First one I have ever seen in a double bound model. I know the subject of the convertable comb and how it works has come up before, so here is a picture of it. Enjoy ron.

I'd recognize that drop cloth anywhere!
The guitar shown has since been acquired by moi and pics are posted on the Register. The finish color is designated as Autumnglo.
There are also 366-12 WBBS or OS models in FG and MG posted on the Register, all under "OS" rather than "WBBS."
Here's a pic of the three together:

Those 3 convertables are really beautiful and unique looking guitars. And I bet they sound as good as they look.

Holy Smoke and a pancake! How'd you manage to get THREE of those together in one place?!

Paul when I saw the picture I was thinking of you. That picture looks like it"s straight out of the 68 catalog. Nice work Ron

Thanks. The 366/336 semi-hollow body structure has a bit more wood inside to secure the converter mechanism. To me that results in a slightly more resonant, solid sound.
Paul -- I started with the MG, which I acquired about 8 years ago. I sold that one off to a forumite and then bought it back, even-up. I traded another forumite for the ATG first posted above. Then someone I knew in the Philly area told me that there was a FG for sale, off-ebay. How could I resist?
Judging from the date codes, these guitars were all produced right around the same time, in mid-1967.
I think there is at least one other 366-12 OS that was done in JG. I've seen a photo of it in a guitar mag:

Thanks, Andrew. Photo taken last Autumn, as evidenced by the leaves turning red in the background.
A fitting backdrop for an Autumnglo Rick photo!

Take a good look at these guitars guys, because in order to get these back in 1968 you had to ask for the white binding both sides, and then you got the OS body style. And then add the convertable option. Very cool.

Ron you are lucky to own the three of them, they are not common rickenbackers, in the OS body style, and then to have the convertable option on top of that, well need I say more. Beautiful guitars.
