Hoping to attend the B.C. Long Beach show on 9-25.

And I think I read there's a Cream tribute band "Badge" playing with you guys at the Celler in LB too !
Should be a fun evening of 60s nostalgia ! :D :D

Rich -

Yes, Badge is a new Cream tribute band from the Inland Empire. They are pretty close to the real deal. The drummer and I go way back. We first started playing together in 1973. This will be the first time in 24 years that we've shared a stage together.

I hope you can make it , and look forward to seeing you.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Jim. It's all about spreading the music of the Byrds.

Great show last night at The Coffee Gallery Backstage.
Wonderful selection of songs. These guys really nailed it.
Drummer was incredible.
Try to catch one of their shows this week, it's a great experience.

Russell

Thanks for the review! It was a blast to play (and somewhat a challenge due to it's size). The Byrds were never know for playing quietly.

Did you get a chance to come by and say hello? We would have loved to talk with you. If you're coming the the SCARF 2010, let's get together and chat. We'll all be there. (and yes, Dave Denk the drummer is coming to play on some of the jams).

Won't be able to make it to SCARF, but I'll try to make it to the show Friday night in Agoura. If I do, I'll be sure to say hello.

Rich,

Badge is starting at 9:00 pm

We go on at 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm pretty much the show from The Coffee Gallery Backstage.

The first set is the Folk/Rock Byrds with the traditional lineup (Crosby, Hillman, McGuinn, Clark and Clarke).
The second set is the psychedelic and country Byrds (complete with B-Bender)

We've added a few new songs (last night was the first time we played them out).

Another fantastic performance last evening in Long Beach by The Byrds Collective !! :D 8)

The other band that played "Badge" were a power-trio Cream tribute band and they had a good authentic sound with Gibson SG Guitar and Bass, Ginger Baker style double bass drums and a Marshall stack.

Here are a few pictures from BC's performance.... sorry for the poor quality of the photography ! :?

A very good evening - thanks to the BC ! Looking forward to a few of the Collectivists sitting in with us at SCARF in a few weeks !

Post Script:
And the Byrds Collective did a string of several Gene Clark numbers 8) mid way through their first set, which was appreciated very much by the audience and was a fitting triubute to a very talented member of the original Byrds !!!
