what kind of pots caps and switch are on the original ES-17 and the original and reissue 425?
Also is there anywhere that I can buy a one of the reissue bridges that were made for the 425v63 ? I don't know that I want to change the bridge but I would just like to have one like the original.

What kind of electronic modification have been done to it? Or are you just changing it for the sake of changing it? And trust me, you got the better bridge.

Huh, that is a pickle. If you don't mind using new parts then here's the schematic for the guitar
http://www.rickenbacker.com/pdfs/19506.pdf
All parts listed are over the counter. I'm sure if you posted a screenshot of the electronics then someone here can probably spot the problem instantly. Maybe it's a quick fix.

For photos of the wiring, surf e-bay. Not too long ago there were a couple of 425's up there that had photos of the insides for proof of originality.

I got it set up by my friend Ted Vig. It's got a new 3-way switch now so that I have 3 different sounds: The one is the simulated neck sound, the second is the normal sound through the tone control and the 3rd position bypasses the tone. Sounds fantastic and it it really plays great. I had thought about trying to find a bridge like the original but the new rickenbacker bridge works so well I will just leave it as is. All my friends are jealous. When they see it.
