Wasn't sure if this should be posted on the My Gig thread....

A funny article on Fox Sports page today, taken from the Wall Street Journal. The Triestina (Italy) soccer team has taken to creating virtual fans, two-dimensional, printed on giant vinyl sheets to fill up their half-empty stadium. Looked a bit strange to have these "fans" clad in winter scarves and heavy coats for a balmy September afternoon soccer game.
Apparently the team owners save $130,000 per year with the costs for attendants, medical staff, security and insurance with the shuttered up seating. Gives new meaning to the half-empty or half-full debate !
