This is SO not a good story, but one that should be presented for those who know and/or have at least followed Dale and his career & contributions. His presence has been controversial of late, but regardless, this situation deserves understanding on somewhat of a compassionate level for all those involved.

Sorry. The title didn't indicate anything specific, so I missed it.

It is clearly a very serious situation. It's impossible to say much about it here for a couple of reasons, but mostly because not much information has been released. In general I would say that it's commendable that his friends have rallied for support. I also know of at least one person who is not a friend but has taken the high road, putting aside old business to express some support on a basic human level. I have no connection with Dale, but I just find it heartwarming.

Nice summation. Clearly this situation should be considered outside of the scope of Dale's professional life, and hopefully will be regarded with the empathy it deserves.
