325/12 - Need Info

have an opportunity to by a 325/12, but am looking for more information about this model. I've heard that the '80s models were sold as 320/12s, then there was the 325/12 and/or 325/12v63.
By the serial number, this one was made in 2007. The thing that's throwing me is the silver-faced knobs. Were these being made in '07? Does the truss rod cover seem right for this particular model?
Thanks!

Possibly this one?
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=396953&start=0
Clues:
-2007 date (C-series)
-Closely spaced knobs like a 325c64
-Lennon-style TRC shape as opposed to '80s and '90s reissue shapes
-Chrome-topped knobs

Are you sure about the 2007 production date? What's the full serial no.?
The bridge appears to have 6 intonation adjustment screws, and if so it would not be a 12-saddle. But the bridge could have been changed back to a 6 saddle and the reference to the coverted 12er would be possible.
If you could post better photos of headstock and bridge (also body thickness measurement), that would help.

Thanks for the info so far! The serial number is 0707xxx, which the Rickenbacker site indicates is the 7th week of 2007. My first question is, was a 325/12 model made during this period? I didn't think so, so it's making me thinking this guitar may be a conversion.
Unfortunately I cannot provide any more details or photos as I have not yet seen it in person. I was just trying to get more information before seeing it with cash in hand.
I have no idea what a fair price would be (especially if this is a conversion). Any guesses?

Dan,
I think you're right. That may be the very guitar, in which case it's a converted 325c64. Any idea if c64 is the same body thickness as Lennon's 325/12? I saw John's at the Rock & Roll Hall of fame and the body seemed really thin to me. . .
Thanks!

I know Dale was working on a conversion for someone at one point, and it started out as a 325C64 6-string.....dunno if this is the same guitar or not.
Here is mine from 1986....

The 325/12V63 models were heavily produced in the late '90s; the last one showing on Register was dated 2000. There was a run of 320-12s produced in the '80s.
I would hazard a guess that, if this is in fact a 325 short-scale 12 produced in 2007, that it is very likely a conversion, as it is a far stretch to think that this guitar came out of the RIC factory during 2007, a time when RIC was not taking special orders and had a severe dealer order backlog on COYs and many other models. It may not be the identical converted guitar shown in the other thread, but it is likely a conversion. You might want to check on the pot codes to see if they match up with the jackplate date code.
As far as pricing, what is the seller asking? I don't think I would go over $2K for a 6 to 12 conversion. A guitar with a conversion story may be interesting (was it renecked? or just the headstock rebuilt? and by who?); but, as far as reselling it, there may only be a limited number of folks who would want to venture into that territory when factory models from the '80s and '90s are available.

This looks to me like the same guitar discussed above in this thread, now on ebay: The unlikely 2007 325-12C64, probably a conversion, no?
