I'm looking for a bass speaker cabinet that handles a Rickenbacker B string with authority. Any suggestions ?

My bass rig consists of a Phil Jones M-500 head driving 2 Phil Jones cabs - an 8T top cab, and a 16B bottom cab, and it handles the low B and even the low C with ease. The 16B cab sounds fantastic by itself. It has sixteen 5" drivers, so the transient response is lightning-fast, and the low end is accurate all the way down to 20 Hz. They are pricey (and heavy), but worth it.

Talk to Don Oatman at Low Down Sound, he can build you the cab of your dreams, for a very reasonable price.

I recently got my second cabinet from him, with two Eminence 3012LF and one 18Sound 6ND410 drivers, this can do the low B all day long.

The Ampeg SVT-410 HLF is also a nice choice and has a usable low frequency of 28Hz. With my '75 SVT, it will tilt most of my pictures on the wall in my music room. Give it a listen at Guitar Center or wherever - you might like it. The used U.S. made ones can usually be had on eBay for $350-$500 depending on condition.

I forgot to mention it should be a Neo. Too many years helping carry those Hammond B3s. I do like the Ampeg HLF though.

+ they are very heavy.

My LDS 2126 is 60 lbs., 36"h x 18"w x 16"d., and has tilt back casters and top rear handle, along with the side handles.

I was also gonna suggest the 410HLF, but they're just brutally heavy IMO. I love the sound mine gets, but I can't carry it alone.

I agree - great sounding cabs but very heavy. Weight is the reason I haven't tried both mine together with the SVT-2 Pro - too darn heavy to get both cabs together in one place. One is in my practice room and one at the house we jam at. But they sound really nice.

I tried a lot of cabinets, either they were not sensitive enough or they were not going to the low B anyway. Finally ended up with a 2x15" and 2x8" and a tweeter (all adjustable, switchable) in one cabinet: http://fmc-audio.jimdo.com/bilder/fmc-gallerie/
See pic 31. It fits perfectly to my Mywatt200 and nearly everytime I have all my controlls to 12 o'clock (linear).

I have an Ampeg 410HLF and I'm really happy with it. It handles the low "B" without any issue.

The ONLY complaints are the wheels are kinda lousy and the weight.
