hello, everyone!

i admit it. i purchased my 381/6 for it's good looks and the cachet of owning one . . .

when it arrived in june, i was slightly put off by the cheesy vintage tuners (yep, historic reissue) and the fact that the guitar is not as ergonomic as my 360. gave it a cursory playing or two and then hung it up to admire.

well, couple days ago i tuned the rascal up to play some and i'm stunned--in a good way--at the resonant lower-register tones the 381 delivers (through a fender super champ xd on clean). plays like a dream, too. what a sweetheart!

no problems with mine, either, but they are not as substantial as whatever ric puts on current-production 360s;

I think that is so beautiful. I love my 381s (well, strictly speaking, the 6 string belongs to another forumite) and find them really great to play. I like the necks to play and don't understand what you mean by "cheesy tuners".

I love my 360, but I wish I had the money for a 381! I've wanted one for some time, but when the opportunity came up for Blondie, my mapleglo 360, I just couldn't pass it up! I LOVE, nice, big, resonant hollowbodies!
