I played one this afternoon at a new music store in Canton, Ohio. He wants $499; it's in Mapleglo natural finish, very nice neck on it, nice and thin.

Wow, that's kind of steep! The plain Maple are the most common.

Yeah, they do have a great neck. I was just working on my T40FL today...just set it up with some new strings. HEAVY BEAST, but I have a lot of fun with it.

Funny thing, I was was poking around in the "PEAVEY" forum, and found that the inventor of the T40 said something to the effect...paraphrased....if you cut the red wire between the two pickups, you get a LOT more mids and some great overtones. :LOL...sounds kind of familiar.
AND one of my new additions....
The color is BEASTLY, but it KICKS BUTT..NOT my normal purchase, but it has a 18 Volt pre and the thing has a KILLER THIN NECK....I'm not too fond of the maple, but tis cool....had has UBER tones!
BEST OF ALL, cheap...cheap...cheap! NOS from 2001from a store that couldn't spell Millennium correctly!
USA Model. LOVE Ebay auctions that misspell the listing....and you can scoff them up CHEAP!

Make the new one fretless, you might get closer to the MM tone with it. For that price you can't lose!

I have not looked to see what T40s go for so I had no idea if that was a fair price or not. Not that I am looking for one; Brian and I went down to this new shop in Canton for him to look at a Reverend Buckshot, which he bought , to go with his Six Gun LE that he has.

I was thinking that EXACT SAME THING!
I'm wondering how the Maple board will work as a fretless.

The going rate for a clean Maple T40 is in the $250.00 to $300.00 area, real clean ones bring higher.
LoL a Reverend Buckshot? I've heard of a Rubmlefish is it?..... but NEVER a buckshot!
