The Rickenbacker Bakelite Band rehearsing for the 2009 Dekefest.
BTW, the lap steel player is Pat Quilter, founder of QSC Audio. He did design work for Pignose before I worked there. I was talking to him at a guitar show and didn't know who he was. He asked me a question about one of the amps he had designed and I started by crediting the design to "amp guru" Pat Quilter. Then I mentioned some of the unique (read weird) features of the amp, and finished by adding that I was good friends with Pat's brother Matt. I introduced myself and he said, "I'm Pat Quilter".

That is awesome! Thanks. I love the story of you meeting Pat - way too funny. I'll bet he really enjoyed it.

What a collection of fine old instruments.

I had brought some rare and unusual Pignose stuff to sell. A dealer I know let me display it in his booth. I was setting it up when Pat walked in. The dealer knew who he was but didn't tell me because he was hoping I'd step in it! Glad I didn't.

That is a cool story and video! BTW, what is the bass instrument in the video? At first glance, I thought it was an upright vacuum cleaner, but then I realized they weren't around in the 30's!
