Hi there-

I had a burst of "back to basics" inspiration last night and threw this one together. No-click tracks, little tuning, going mostly from memory!

Instruments include:

- 1965 Gibson J-160E for rhythm guitar - I contemplated bumping the strings into something at the end
- 2007 Gibson ES-345, double-tracked for lead
- 1991 Rickenbacker 4001V63 bass - mute cranked up, flatwounds, toaster only.
- The drums were pretty basic, so I set the hi-hat cymbals on a drum case, and the snare next to that. The kick drum is a rolled up piece of carpet

The J-160E, drums and vocals were mic'd with a Neumann U87 into a Universal Audio 2-610, into a Neve Portico 5042 Tape Simulator into the Apogee Ensemble into a MacBook running Logic Express.

The electric instruments were recorded DI into the Universal Audio 2-610 -> Neve Portico 5042 Tape Simulator -> Apogee Ensemble into a MacBook running Logic Express. The 345 had their basic amp simulator on it.

I'm currently looking for a small amp to record with, thus going DI as I have no amp at the moment

Great sounding instruments all around. Ringo would be proud.

Nice thump on that bass! I'll have to play around with the mute more often.
