Hey guys I need to replace my E tuning peg and I'm looking for one where I can flip it to drop d. Does anyone know what brand/kind to get for my 4001? I want to order the right one that will fit and not give me any trouble. What do you guys recommended?

Thanks!

Jake

Hi Jake,

We had some discussion on this topic back a few months. Maybe you can get some info here.

You can go to Hipshot's website and take a look, but they don't make one that's a direct replacement for a RIC with it's small 1/2" tuner post. The closest thing would be their BT1, but the tuner shaft is the standard large Fender size. You might try calling them and telling them what you need. They do make a vintage style clover leaf tuner for 4001/3s that they could probably assemble with the extender from the BT1. Barring that, their Ultralite extender with the clover tuning key might also be a possibility.

HIpshot does make one that fits... it's called the BT5. It is not listed on their site, so you will have to call them. Depending on the year your 4001 is you may have issues with screw hole placement, but the post fits.
