Is this the correct part to do the cap bypass thing on a 4003 bass? Im having trouble finding it in the boutique.

I need to order a new nut, so I'm trying to fill a $20.00 minimum order. I thought I'd drop it in my V63.

That's the one. But I don't know if it fits in a V63 or not, some basses have control cavities too shallow to fit these (they are taller than typical CTS pots).

I seem to remember seeing a thread here recently that addressed putting one of these in either a V63 or C64. I think a small amount of material may well have been removed to get it done. Not 100% on this though.

Ok... I'm not into removing any material.

No big deal. it was just a thought. :D

I didn't have to remove anything when I dropped a bypass pot in the 2000 V63 I bought from Scott.

The cavity depth varies from bass to bass - my 72/3 Frankenrick didn't need any routing to insert the push/pull pot :D , but I know other basses of similar vintage did require a little extra wood removal :( . This is probably not the case for basses made since the vintage tone circuit was introduced as standard on the 4003.

BTW you'll need the cap as well - the V63 is capless...

Wow, I hadn't even noticed I'd broken the 2000 post mark a day or two back - shows how observant I am!

I had a thought of doing the same mod to my v63 and started a thread about it. The answers were so helpful. Here it is:
