One of the songs I like to just do for fun as well.
I try to do it more or less inbetween the original Television and R.E.M.s cover version.
You should try to do vocals with it, worse than Television's own vocals is impossible, I tell you!

Vocals -- hah! Will never happen! But thanks. Maybe....
I could get kicked off the internet for adding vocals, ya know.

You know, the drums really make that song. That whole album is great - a category unto itself.

Here is a another fun one "Glory", that is me on the JG370. Tom Verlaine is a quirky cat and I love his songs.

Hey Adam -- any Glenn Mercer shows coming up? I'd like to catch him sometime outside the Feelies. It must be great playing with him. I don't know who's a better guitar player -- him or Mitch Easter. Both are the best I've ever seen. Nice Rick!

Thanks Jeff! The Glenn Mercer Band is on the back burner at this point. The Feelies have just finished recording a new album, and mixing is about to commence. I'm all jittery in anticipation!
It is so much fun playing and hanging out really. All the Feelies and the offshoots are just fantastic and interesting folks. The rehearsals are half playing and half "history of rock n roll"
I've seen Mitch a few times over the years. I think they are just very different thinkers. I have and love all the Let's Active stuff too.
We have played See No Evil live and it is just so much fun, I think Im going to grab the guitar right now!

I can't wait for the new Feelies album. I heard a few songs at Maxwell's in July, and they were great. If you've heard them, you know what I mean! But I do hope the album comes out soon! I've also seen Wild Carnation and Speed the Plough (those videos are up, too, as you may have seen). I met Rich Barnes at a Feelies show in 2009, and he told me about his band, and then I had to make plans to see them. The Wild Carnation and Speed the Plough show was as good as any Feelies show and hope to see them again! If you get a heads-up on a Feelies show in the metro NY area, please let me know!

I'll let Richard know about your thoughts, he'll be floored! Everybody in these circles pretty much cites Television as a major influence. I like to think that even if Verlaine's voice gets on ones' nerves, there is a song in their modest catalogue that will at least blow somebody away.
I've actually never seen Speed the Plow, seeing "Sunburst" was the closest I ever got. The Yung Wu is pretty awesome too. David actually covers "Kingdom Come" on his new unreleased record!

I got to see Rich at the Wild Carnation show and we watched Speed the Plough perform when they took the stage afterward -- I've corresponded with him a couple of times and tried to see them at the Cake Shop show this fall, but couldn't get to it. Regarding the Feelies, I see a few blank dates at Maxwell's at the end of December.....hmmmmm.

Hey Adam -- can you identify this Feelies tune for me? Taped it last summer, but I don't know the song.

Written by Lou Reed...The Velvet Undergrounds' "Sunday Morning"
The Feelies have a habit of making the Velvets quite Velvety!

Thanks -- didn't know that VU tune. As much of a VU fan that I am, there is still material I don't really know. I like the Feelies version of this better than the original, now that I've heard both!
