The thought of owning a Gretsch never crossed my mind until I saw this one.
Now if it were only a lefty?

Yes sir Richard!
I had a Silver Falcon a few years back. Same as that one except black and silver instead of black and gold. It even had the vertical Gretsch headstock inlay and engraved hump block neck markers.
It was a great guitar but I sold it because it was too gaudy even for me (and I play a Lightshow on stage sometimes

) Every time I would play it all of the other guitar players in the bar would just stare at it, and me..............too much pressure!

+1, IMO Falcons are beautiful, but it's like having a gold plated Rolls-Royce - it makes a statement.

Phoenix sounds much better though, its got TV Jones Classics, the Falcon doesn't.
Also has a 9.45" fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets, the Falcon has fingerboard radius of 12" .

Got a White Falcon last year, and have hardly played any other electric guitar since. They are a lovely instrument.

I love the Black Phoenix, much more so than the Black Falcon, with the gold sparkle all over it. Kinda' gaudy. Black with silver trim is so much classier.

It is always of interest to me to see variations in the features of Gretsch instruments over time. They certainly have kept things interesting.
