with all the recent fuss on the 4000 bass... try to find me pics of professional artists using the 1963- mid '70's 4000 bass live ! ( no, not seth in the garage band down the street, , but real professional recording artists.) i think survivor's bassist had one, unless it was a late '50's type.
try and keep this thread focused, please.

These make me want to start gigging on bass again, just to have an excuse to get one.
But-with three bands an an acoustic duo (guitar in each one), doesn't look good.
Hard to see during the brief concert footage. I stopped it and slid the time counter ball and and forth.
I'm going to figure out how to embed if it kills me.
Edit: Figured it out with a forum search. Stop the video at 1:24. Pretty grainy. I actually remember seeing this in my younger days.

Aha! I thought so. I'd love to have one of those. Maybe Rickenbacker will someday do a limited run of them, as they've got some serious retro mojo.

He probably borrowed the 4000 from Stanley.

You're going to need to trust me on this one, as I can't find a better pic. I was watching the Palladia channel tonight on DirecTV here in the U.S. and they were showing the "Hard Rock Calling" show from Hyde Park in 2008. The bass player from Cheryl Crow's band used a blue Ric 4000 on at least one tune, but I this is the best pic I can find. Youtube videos are not going to cut it. From the concert video, it is definitely a 4000 - maybe 70's era.
