Too good to be true - Too unreal to be true - Perspective

The price ($1,795.00) seems more than reasonable. This isn't the coveted 'devil' model, but still, a very nice bass.

Perhaps the back has major road-rash. :(

Thoughts?

For every bargain there's an un-bargain I suppose...

$15,000.00

Don't sprain your fingers logging on to the site to buy this.

At any rate, it makes the one at CME look like a bargain ($9,800.00).

given the state of affairs, the price on the red one isn't too bad, and they probably can be talked down.

Maybe the one at the dealer IS the devil model. At least according to this thread...

He's quite the wild-man, eh!

QUESTION: Was there a Ric 4003 bass finished in red, INCLUDING the fret board?

There was, and its usually referred to as the "Redneck" model. But "Devil Model" is kinda catchy...

There was never a Rickenbacker that was given a "devil" model designation. Babür gave his 4003 in Red that name for the red color with black trim. The color was Red, designated as RED.

There was limited run of a red 4003S with the fingerboard painted red and it was called the 4003 Redneck.

Here's a link to a 4003S Redneck pic.

Here is a rare 4003S/8 Redneck.

OK, where I live is full of them. And we all know that a redneck's last words are, "Hey, y'all -- watch this!"
But what is not known is what a redneck's next-to-last words are: "Hey, Bubba -- will you hold my beer?"

Redneck may have originated as a term for Presbyterians in Fayetteville, NC (my home town! ). I've also heard it originated as a term for union members of either coal mines or the rail road. You'd think somebody would know where it came from.
