As Skip and a few other forumites have been posting some cool soul and R&B side here though it might be time for an official spot:
Ike and Tina could peal the paint off the wall with their music..check the rhythm player's overhand style

I like it George! Are you going to give it it's own spot?
I had the "privilege" of meeting Mr. Turner at a guitar store. He may not have been the monster portrayed in "What's Love Got to Do With It", but he was close.

I don't consider much from Motown to be soul, but this one definitely is:

Even the "Blue-eyed" version:

Interesting, that rhythm player with Ike & Tina - he switches guitars, obviously to one with an open tuning, and then plays "overhand", almost as if he were a steel player. Anyone know who he is, or anything about him?

Haven't been able to find any info re: him..cool style though!
Most of the YouTube posts mention the abusive ways of Ike..seems it was not always that way..according to Tina in her auto bio Ike was a nice guy until cocaine took over his life and let loose the demons

For YOU Rickenbrother!
Get ready for the next Mini-Con! need to recruit singers to do the choreography.
Archie Bell and the Drells:

For some reason our bass player got them mixed up with another group and called them "Archie Bell and the Troggs"! Tighten up you wild thing!

All of this R&B music, especially the song, "Tighten Up" was a very strong influence on me at a very early age to persue being a bassist. I love this stuff! :)
