No, I have no pipe dreams of a group. But once, just once, it would be great to be a fly on the wall in the same room for a jam of Julian, Sean, James, Dhani and Zak.

Why? Would you expect something close to what their dads did? Which would make me ask again: why?

They're the kids of famous people. Talent isn't something you're born with; it's not in someones genes.
Talent, a word I don't believe in, is not something you either have or do not have; It is basically the result of the combination of the will to succeed in something + lots of practise.

I think it would be unfair to expect anything better than a jam you could have with your friends.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more with your thoughts on talent. Someone could have all the will to succeed and practice constantly and still not sing like Vince Gill or Tony Bennett. I will agree that proficiency can be developed and the ability to play an instrument is within the grasp of most people if they are determined. But to say that some people are not born with greater talent than others just seems a bit disingenuous.

Have you actually heard some of their recent stuff? Julian has a new collaborative EP, Sean has a new album with his girlfriend, James has some great stuff, Dhani is holding his own, and don't forget Zak is a master drummer in his own right, playing with The Who, Oasis, etc. A jam would be fun.

Tina Cole was the only reason I watched "My Three Sons" as a kid.

Yeah, but it would still be fun. In the little neck of the woods I grew up in, my father and the father of one of my best friends were in the same profession, not music related. All these years later, my friend inherited his father's practice, and I would have but for my father having died. We keep in touch. We get together and tell war stories, and even ask each other for professional advice occasionally. Decades ago, we even put together a band with some other friends of the same type of day job and did quite well locally. It was a lot of fun.

I'm not trying to move mountains here. I just know what it is to be the son of a person who, in my case locally, not internationally, but who the respective fathers are better known in the profession than the sons are. I'm just wondering if they might have as much fun jamming as my life-long friend and I have when we get together.
