Astro

Any members on the RRF got a Astro guitar, pictures would be splendid if you have one? I understand these were sold as kit guitars in 1964 there is a small pic in the Rickenbacker 12 book that i can see but i was just wondering if any of you orrible lot actually had one?

I think it was Chris Clayton who brought one to the first MARF. I just checked, sorry, no pics of it. :(

Interesting that there is no pics in the Register on the Astro.I would love to hear anyone else's comments about this kit guitar if they have played it etc.

Given that they are not Rickenbacker guitars, as well as the fact that they don't have serial numbers, I'm not sure they belong in a registry of Rickenbacker items.

FYI, the first one, which I built personally at age 13, is currently in our museum. Virtually all of these were sold through the May Company stores during the Christmas season of 1963.
