Neck profile difference between modern era 330 model years?

Anyone know if there would be a neck profile difference between a 1987 330 and one made on 2006 (I understand that the 60's 330's were very slim)?
My 2006 330 has a chunky neck that I like and I seem to remember reading here that earlier 330's were a slimmer neck until around 2000?
I sure like the warm Fireglo from the 80's compaired to the lighter FG of the 2000's:
The first is my 2006 FG the second is a 1987 FG that has a warm FG finish like that on my 1997 RI from the 80's:
