Staples: The Real Rock&Roll High School

When I was a kid growing up in Connecticut the school that had the best concerts was Staples High School in Westport (Link)

Some of the bands that played there where The Animals,Cream,the Doors,Sly and the Family Stone

Pretty good line-up of shows for a HS.

The Doors got $2,500. I wonder if they gave the school a break or if that was more or less what they were getting back in '67. After a #1 album, you'd think they could command more at a more commercial venue.

+1 That amount would have been more than the base sticker price of most new autos back then.

They played at Staples 4 days after they played on Ed Sullivan. How much did the get for that gig?
