I don't think this is what most of you guys would typically listen to but I thought what the heck and i'd put it up here anyway.
I mostly play rock but I use this guitar for the whole 9 yards. Blues, Jazz, weird stuff, everything.

Added a brief demo video with no extra music, just the guitar.

Love the sound, Erik (nice playing, too!) ... what strings do you have on your 480, and what amp are you using?

I've never heard a 480 before. Now I really want one - if only I could make it sound that good.
Thanks for posting that!

Thanks.
I'm using Earnie Ball 'Hybrid Slinky' strings. They're 9,11,16,26,36,46. The amp i'm using is a Fender Super Champ. The first vid is using a Boss Blues Driver for extra kick.

LOL I think that I had a set of those strings (IIRC they were an unused replacement set that came with a guitar I bought), but because I don't like 9s (too thin, hurts my fingers) I don't have them anymore ...

So, a question.
I've gotten a couple responses on the video saying it's "really badly out of tune" and it dosen't seem like the generic "it's cool to post comments on youtube covers saying the guitar is out of tune" nonsense either. In the doodling video it's tuned a half step down. I checked it with the tuner before doing the recording, and I also can't hear anything wrong. The strings on the guitar are about 2 months overdue for a changing.
I'd really like to know what some other people who have been playing longer than I have think. It's really a problem when someone is telling me i'm out of tune, and I can't hear anything wrong.

Just because the tuner indicates that the open string are in tune that doesn't mean the guitar will be in tune in all fret positions, just the nature of guitars and the Evil Tuned Western tuning system. That is why a lot of tuners with presets have "sweetened" tunings.

I play for several hours every day, so I change them once a month. They start getting pretty nasty if they're left on there longer than that.

I'm really liking your 480 and that other thread with all the pictures of the 480 series.
Those are cool-looking Rics and good tone !!
