A couple of Forumites asked for pictures because I've made several modifications on the pickup configurations over the last year on my 1981 370 WB and this week I just added some Oven Knobs (acquired courtesy of Danotron!)

So here is a little pictorial history of the several different looks the WB has had over the last year. A couple of the earlier pics were posted on several different RRF threads .... first the WB had the original three High Gains. Then a couple of High Gains were switched arouund for achieving balance of sound. Then a HB1 was put in the Bridge position with two low output High Gains in Neck and Middle. Next two "new" High Gains (with 11+ and 12+ ohm output) were converted with Toaster Covers and replacing the original 30 year old low output High Gains in the Neck and Middle while the Hot High Gain (13.7 ohm) was reinserted in the Bridge, in the place of the HB1. This last week, I switched out the Hot High Gain in the Bridge for the Hotter HB1 (15.4 ohm) and Oven Knobs were added to complete the look.

Here is the new look with the Toasterized High Gains and the Oven Knobs (thanks Dan-o !). I did one final musical chairs with the pickups... switching out the Hot High Gain in the Bridge for a Hotter Humbucker. So now a pickup configuration look like a SH-350 model.

I can only keep track because the last switcheroos happened in the last two weeks, right before and after the Mini Con ..... and luckily I haven't been soldering pickups in and out on my other Rics !! :wink

The guitar's new look is awesome! (Actually, it's looked pretty awesome at every stage, but then it's a JG WB, so how could it not! ) As we all know, a guitar's appearance is its most important quality, but in case anyone was wondering, the hotter pickups really bring out the guitar's sound-it's fantastic!

Thanks Paulie ... your cool DoubleBounds (and Sergio's handiworks) are the inspiration for hotter than hot pickups

My pleasure to help you with the knobs. You had mentioned it some time ago so when I saw them at the LA guitar show, I went for it. In my experience the Black/Silver ones are harder to find (for some reason) than the Brown/Gold ones. Oh, and by the way, they look great on your guitar

Speaking of your guitar, it sounds amazing too! Whatever you have under the hood of those toasters sound great. Congratulations!

Me too! A set of black oven knobs would look great on my JG 360/12WB since it already has toasters installed.

Dan-o --- looks like you're going to have to get an Order book going for RRF Oven Knob fans !!!! This could become big business for your guitar shows booth you have as a side-line !!!

I have a set (four) of black/gold knobs that I picked up at a used electronic parts store some time back ... under normal lighting, it's hard to tell the difference:

Rich, loving the look of the oven knobs, now you need some gold guards and TRC! The guitar sounded great at SCARF, especially overdriven, nailing the Mike Campbell tone of when he performs "Refugee" live with his 350MC.
