Getting mine installed on the 4003 at POTR within the next couple weeks
I asked Richard at Rickenbacker what the boutique horseshoes were wound to and he indicated between 10K and 11K (kudos to Richard for being so responsive on this BTW). I was a little surprised at how hot these are - I figured the boutique horseshoes would be leftovers after fulfilling C64 and C64S orders but my understanding is that the C64/C64S horseshoes were wound to around 7K. Sure enough the horsehoe on my C64 reads 6.8K using a cable (cap bypassed), so figure a little more than 7K if I were measuring it directly at the pickup.
No matter - I'm psyched to get one on the 4003. I can always have it unwound a bit if I find it too hot.

Anyone know if it includes the vintage style surround? Are the current toasters wound as hot?

The hotter, the better, I say.
The bass of my dreams will be complete. I've already acquired the vintage TRC, toaster, strap buttons and tone/volume knobs. This horseshoe will be the icing on the cake.
Kudos to RIC for putting a few out there for us. I know they won't last long.

Wow...this is something I've been waiting for. If only those would be available for us who live outside of US...
How this modern horseshoe work in 4003 when "vintage tone" circuit is bypassed?

Nice. I just ordered one for the heck of it. Maybe put it on my 8 string.

I wouldn't be surprised if these disappear again.

And a reasonable price compared to the past frenzy, too! yep,Jeff, you shoulda! I wanted to try one for my 4000,but have come to realize the Higain needs to stay in there,it sounds too good to replace.

It will be interesting to see how long they stay on the shelves! Ordered me one for a project that's almost finished... perfect timing!

I'm surprised it took this long.
It must have been killing RIC to see them fetch double and more on the open market.

I'm pretty sure that's gonna be the whole shebang, including the surround, horseshoes, adjuster screws, springs, and back plate.
They might even throw the four little screws in as well.
