Hi. After lurking and stealthing about these forums for the last 8-10 years I’ve decided to register myself and my 4001CS. I’ve recently had a resurgence of interest in all things Rickenbacker and would like to contribute and share where I can. I’m from Scotland and my 4001CS is number 431.
Perhaps this should be in the technical forum, but I’ve had a real problem in trying to upload pictures of my guitar to the register. They appear to upload ok (I can see it on my upload bandwidth), but have no confirmation when complete and the pictures are still not there.
Sizes are 3xxx X 2xxx, so should be within the size the site can take.

Welcome, Bill,
If you are using the Upload attachment feature the size limit is 1280x1280 and 500Kb.

Hey - I thought we had our quota of Scotsland people already?
Welcome onboard Bill. This place is a lot of fun..........nice people too!
You can drop hosted images on with the Img button .....hit the button and then paste the link in between the two Img brackets like this...........
or "upload attachment" and put a thumbnail in like this.........
Hope that helps.

Ah, didn't catch the size requirement was that small. I'm sure i read elswhere that it was 5000x5000. I'll re-size.
Thanks

Well, the size to upload into a post is fairly limited, but images uploaded to your register entry can be pretty big. The images must be JPEG type and will upload from your machine when you hit the "Submit" button in the Register Images Manager. This can take a while if you have a slow connection and will fail if you kill the browser, etc. before it's finished uploading...

This is true, I am not sure what the limits are for
Register images.

Found the info/limits on this post

Looks like it's 5000x5000 assuming they haven't changed in the meantime. Still haven't had a chance to play with the images and try again.

It's actually 6000x6000 now.
Sometimes (depending on your uplink) the upload takes simply too long and timeouts, I suggest trying to upload the images 1 at a time and if it works try 2 together and then 3 together, etc...

I ended up halving the size (approx 18xx X 18xx) roughly 2MB per pic, and they uploaded no problem. I never thought of trying one at a time. Connection and upload speed seemed pretty solid as i monitored it while it went. Anyway, sorted now

. I'll fiddle with them and see if i can get better quality ones there later.
