Though it might embarrass you if you were here, happy birthday, George. And thanks for all the great music.

Watching Concert for George to celebrate the date of birth of this great man.

Here's an interesting little clip that seems perfect for today:

Also watching the Concert for George today. Hard to believe it's ten years already. :( I still miss him.

I say this every year. He was born on the 24th. Check it out.
There are other resources, but this will suffice.

However, his sister has said in an interview (recorded) that their mother told her that George was born after midnight on the 25th (I can't remember the exact time quoted, but it was something like 12:14 a.m.). I heard (again) this sound bite last Sunday morning on one of KRTH's Beatles programs. I would tend to believe a close family member over all other sources. :)

George was an extraordinary guitar player especially for his time, especially when The Beatles rose from obscurity to fame and fortune. I don't think that there was a genre that he could not tackle well in the early 60's. I always liked George as a person too. I have to say that his contributions to my listening pleasure were beyond measure.

Consequently he is much missed.

Yep! His melodic playing, whether it be riffs or solos, sticks in my head-as much as a vocal hook! Happy Belated Birthday, George!

Thats an interesting clip about George not getting there in time to get the Fender.

Personally, I'm glad he DIDN'T get it!
