If anyone hasn't heard, but is a fan of the show, Two and a Half Men has ceased production for its 8th season due to Charlie Sheen's comments about the show's producers and his condition. He's been doing all kinds of interviews, intoxicated on one thing or another.
Two and a Half Men is one of my favorite shows, but it has been knocked from #1 to #3 thanks to the better writing of The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. The 7th season was the worst, with vulgarity oozing through like no-one's business. Things picked up during the 8th season, though, it looked promising before Charlie decided to pull the plug.
The day before SCARF, I saw Charlie Sheen in person, and while he's a good actor, his troubles are really starting to annoy me.
And he's quit the show, which makes me wonder what his cast mates and crew members are thinking. The closest we can get to co-star Jon Cryer's thoughts is this interview for Conan O'Brian's show taped last month:
I used to respect Charlie Sheen, but now I don't. He is a mess, and is heading to an early death. He clearly has more money than he knows what to do with!
And, for those of you who don't know, while at the Two and a Half Men taping, I got to meet Jon Cryer, who was a very pleasant person to deal with.

I feel bad for all the people behind the scenes who worked on the show who lost their jobs.
Charlie has been going on rants everywhere. Might even show up here to continue his rants.

Jake, we have to find you better things to occupy your time, son! I'll see your 2 1/2M and raise you an Arrested Development.

It would probably sound something like this (altered quote from real interview):
"I am on a drug, it's called Rickenbacker. It's not available, because if you try it once, you will die - your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body. That's how good these guitars really are."

Don't associate Arrested Development with Charlie Sheen. That show was absolute genius!

The show is going back into production in March, there will just be fewer episodes. I don't see anything wrong with Charlie... people are freaking out and making his personal life front page news, and he appears to be having a laugh at their expense. He's taking drug tests and hair follicle tests at these interviews, so people should just calm down and maybe concentrate on news that matters. This is just part of a culture where most people like to see a celebrity take a fall. Who knows what will happen, but I don't think the show will end with this season and I don't think Charlie is going to OD and be found dead by Six Flags employees.
He's not Bi-Polar, he's Bi-Winning.

I liked "Two" mainly because the characters, although all are very self-involved, and a rude housekeeper to accompany, they are very likable people. The excessive "bathroom" humor, which is anything but funny to me, is a major turn-off. See: Any kid movie, Pixar, Disney, Dreamworks, etc., and the absolute requirement of rude "bathroom" humor. One reason to go see them...a kid's demand to see it. One reason to not go see them, "bathroom" content.
...wisdom through

I half way suspect Charlie wants out of the show, and the rants were a good way to get fired.
Things went a little too far and his soon-to-be-ex had his kids taken away this morning. He sounded quite rational in the interviews this morning regarding his kids.

Erik - What I meant was for Jake to give up mediocre entertainment like 2 1/2M for much more intelligent stuff like AD. I too love AD because it is genius. I watch the whole series, straight through (in about 5 or 6 sessions over the course of a week or two), about once a year on DVD. So I apologize for the association... it was in the interest of juxtaposition!

Yes, and do be careful combining your careers if you're an analyst and therapist.
