We can wait, although as you're the first we do expect sound clips and more pic's

, they haven't charged my card yet so I'm just going to have to wait longer, although I'm sure I got my order in on the second batch

.

I like the way the shoes are shaped now. I'd be interested in the ohm reading also.

Here it is after replacing the plastic base plate with a vintage spec aluminum one, and the surround with an original lapsteel part I re-cut and had triple plated. The last pic is it installed in my '64 4001S, which is gonna need some work before it's playable. I was able to source all the parts though. Still gotta get a toaster top, but that's the easy part as it doesn't have to be a vintage one to suit me. I don't have an ohms meter, but I'll see if I can check it at a friends'. Oh..and Thanks Joey! I definitely won't

Decided to burn the midnight oil and attempt stringing this bass up to see if the incredibly thin neck would take the tension of a current set of RIC 4003 nickel rounds (take offs from my 4004MID). To my surprise it did, with only about 1/16" of relief at the 9th fret. So then I decided to actually solder the new pickup into the NOS late 90's 4003 harness I had. Plugged it in, tuned it up, set the harmonics and it actually sounds pretty good. Can't turn it up though since everyone's asleep, but I plan on cranking it up in the AM. The fingerboard has had the finish removed long ago, is pretty dried out and dilapidated with frets that look like replacements. As expected, the bridge is all the way down on the deck, meaning my replacement fretboard will be 1/16" thicker, which should also be stronger so I can get the neck flatter. Since the mojo level in this bass is pretty high (having been made some time around my 4th b-day), I'll play it as is till I can afford to have it restored. Now I just need a toaster top. Anyone have one they'd like to part with? Even if it doesn't work, I can send it to Sergio to have it rewound to around 10K to match what this RIHS probably is.
