I did the RWRP mod to my bridge pup on my 4003, and I enjoy its quietness. I bought a RIHS for my 4003s. Because of its design, you cannot alter it. I'm assuming I can do the RWRP mod the the neck pup instead, and get the same result?

The magnet on a neck position high-gain is glued on, so you risk breakage if you try to RWRP a high-gain. However, I think Cassius987 sent a toaster to Lindy Fralin, who re-polarized the magnets so he didn't have to take anything apart, and then put a new lead on it reversing the in and out leads of the coil to complete the RWRP on a toaster.

It was slightly more elaborate than that (but not much). Fralin's pickup re-winding specialist did the job for me and requested I send both the pickup to be modified as well as the pickup that would remain unchanged so their polarities could be truly exact opposites. I also had them put new leads on a total of three pickups because they had seen some wear and tear over multiple installs. It was a pretty cheap job all things considered, I think I spent around $50 including shipping.

The Toasters reside in my 4001FL and the job was perfectly executed. The RWRP really works wonders. The 4001FL is becoming my main bass.
