Playing with Photoshop

I have Photoshop elements. I'm a novice but it's kind of fun!

It is fun. I would avoid using the stock filters though, and experiment. Some of the basic tools for tweaking images are under Image > Adjustment, particularly the Color Balance and Levels which are useful for simple adjustments that can make images look a whole lot better.

You can also find lots of free customized filters to download on the web.

Dan, your picture made me laugh - just because of the look on your face in the picture :D

I've had both elements and the full programme. I'm too inpatient for these things.
Dan, try something Erik suggested - his pictures always look ace, so he must be right!

Get the Missing Manual book on PSE, that is what I use, I can't justify the expense for the full CS5.
