Hey any Fender people out there:

Fender Villager XII acoustic. Made somewhere in the 1965-69 range. Yet my friends' example has a 5-digit serial number, putting it from the late '50s. What gives? Serial plate is original.

A quick google search of "fender serial numbers villager" yielded some similar and interesting links, particularly these:

Indeed. I think they must have had a start-over with the serial numbers or something. The plate is shaped like a sheriff's badge, so there'd be no switching it out for a Stratocaster plate...

This guitar may be available for trade or sale soon. If so then I will post in the appropriate section. (Unless this is already the appropriate section?)

Pics please? not cause I'm in the market, but I've always been curious about these. The hockey stick headstock always grabs my eye and reminds me of my Elec XII.

actually, I'd be more interested in your review of the instrument rather than pics, which I know are often a pain in the rear for me.
