Well...OK! I went ahead and decided to do the drill/tap/screw thing on my early 72 Grover slimlines.I gotta tell ya kids....I had the willys bigtime!I mean flat ear slimlines are difficult to come by and when you do they are around a C note a piece! The swag thing was getting me nowhere since there wasnt anything ta swag anymore.Besides...it was a good excuse to buy a drill press  My local ACE(helpfull hardware man)Had all the stuff! including the drill press! And for 104.00 I fixed them all me self!It really wasnt that difficult to do(after i stopped shaking from nervousness)and now they are bullet proof.I packed them with grease and screwd them together and VIOLA!!Now im ready to do more of them!!I think i'll just randomly buy more vintage 4001 basses just to fix the grovers!Well ok...it does kill two birds with one stone that way  My wifes gonna kill me...,...NAAA she's a good sport besides she's been married to me for ten years...poor woman  .Kudo's to Paul!!For his enlightening and performance enhancing Grover repair posts :D

I would really like to have this done on my '73. I crazy glue & put a small "zip-tie" around them, it usually lasts for a couple of months.

The E tuner on my Azure is a little slacker than I'd like and I'd like to get someone to do this. I was hoping Paul would do a video of the process but I haven't seen it yet....
